thank goodness the chickens didn't get out - again!

- So it is Friday and I lurveeeeeeeeeeee Friday's, it is meant to be 30 degrees today which is odd for this time of year. Apparently it is going to be a hot and dry summer this year :(

- We had Adventure Club yesterday which was really fun, thank goodness the chickens didn't escape again. Last week during one of the talks, when the little ones were listening intently the three chickens all jumped out of the box. You might be wondering why on earth we have chickens at our Adventure Club!! This term we have had a 'Down on the Farm' theme and one of my co-leaders managed to get two little ducks and three little chicks. They have grown and grown over the last 10 weeks and managed to ESCAPE last week. All the kids were screaming so I was trying to calm them down while at the same time catch one of the three chickens - mannnnnnnnnnnn I don't like chickens and I certainly don't like picking them up but I had to suck it in and just do it. The leaders have name one of the ducks - manky duck, the poor little thing has deformed feet, and might not be with us much longer - he is going to Jane's Mums where he will probably get - you know whatted. Don't tell the little ones....

- Praise God as I really think the kids understood the lesson on the Holy Spirit, they listened and answered my questions and it was so amazing to hear them comprehend. We played a great game at the end, where they got into pairs and one got to wear a blind-fold and the other got to 'guide and help' his partner, showing that the holy spirit leads and guides us in our walk with God. They loved it.

- Three weeks tomorrow we move into our new place, we have had a long settlement period of 10 weeks and so it has seemed like it was just a dream until now. It is started to feel real and I am getting excited about having our 'own' place, even though the thought of packing an moving fills me with dread I know it will be worth it. Sooooooooo many people from church have said they would help which is just amazing...

- SP gets out of his cast and off his crutches in just under 2 weeks, we both can't wait. You do get used to it after a while but we are sure glad it isn't for too much longer, the good news is he will be out of the cast before we move BUT he will need to be careful so won't be able to be too involved with lifting and moving...

- My cheeky little chica sister got 'banned' from ballet the other day "until she is a little older", she doesn't listen to what the teacher tells her and just runs off dancing behind other people doing her own thing... She also got asked to not attend Tae Kwon Do with my other sister as she is a 'little' disruptive - hmmmmmm, it is a little bit of a worry but here's hoping she will grow out of it.

- Anyhoo, those are some little bits and bobs of life - hope you all have a super weekend. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11

That sounds like quite an adventure with the chickens!

Great verse!

My father got kicked out of school after his very first day (a one room schoolhouse). The teacher told my uncle to take him home to his mother and not to let him come back until the following year. Apparently he wouldn't stay in his seat and kept running around the circumference of the room.

He turned out pretty good in the long run.
